I know it seems like a big task to transform the entire fashion industry by setting a new precedent, but why not? People should not have to sacrifice style in pursuing their personal journies. Let's make sure this vision becomes a reality.

From the begining |
Where AM I now? |
If you asked my third grade self what she wanted to be when she grew up, she would have enthusiastically shouted back at you, "a fashion designer!" The answer has not changed. However, the further I look into the fashion industry, the more i realize has to change. Now, more than ever, we need brands who refuse to follow the fast-fashion buissness model, and instead pursue genuine, well-made clothing. Not only should these clothes be well-made, but they should also be made well. This is only possible with ethically-sourced materials and sustainable practices. Also, garments created should be able to be worn by anybody. With this line, I am combining my passions.

I am currently reaching out to companies about the possibilities of what to do with my fashion line.

Hi! My name is Kendall Jacobsen and I am a Senior in high school! I am super excited to be a Severn Fellow and passionate about my project. I have many years of fashion experience. I learned to sew in fifth grade and have since taken fashion design courses at SCAD, FIT, and Academy of Art University. I plan to attend SCAD come Fall and am ecstatic to further pursue my artistic dreams. One can see my artwork on my website, linked here.
